First Post on my new site, Who am I?

Updated: Mar 23, 2021

I am Sherona. I grew up in a small town of 2000 people where probably 500 of those said 2000 were my family, in Indian Head, Saskatchewan Canada. I loved art, film and making music videos. My ultimate dream even when I was young was to make music videos my career.

My move to Los Angeles? Time to get a bit personal.

It may have come as a shock to some, but I never knew, or had my eyes set on Los Angeles as a home. Everyone I knew growing up would make those assumptions because I was a filmmaker. I was acting. I modeled. I wanted to make music videos. Naturally Los Angeles should be the spot I ended up right? Let's just say I was the last to know.

Throughout my twenties, I had my eyes set on New York City. I made a bunch of connections, was a part of NYFW, had films in festivals, and even shot a short film in Jersey City, which I WAS SURE was going to be my next home. It wasn't until October 2018, I was working on a few different pitches for the American Film Market, and decided to be a part of the conference. I felt like I was slapped in the face by God, because on day two, when I was writing and pitching on a project I just knew, this was my future and home, that everything led to this. I couldn't explain it, I didn't even know fully how I was going to move here. Nothing. But I knew I was going to be trying to move to LA fully within the next few months. A few days later I met my soon to be bestest friend in the world, boyfriend, partner, and the DD to my BB. He was the first person I told, and I told him I would be back in a few months. When I got back in Saskatchewan after that trip, I started packing. Although sad I was leaving family. It was my future, and now I know how much.

Flash forward to Now, coming outta covid and lockdown. I am now living in Torrance, California with my man Adam Jackson, creating art, building our community, and expecting a baby in August. To say the last 2 years have been a ground shaking change would be an understatement.

But I am excited and motivated to be a strong voice in California. To bring my skills of storytelling through film to the people of Los Angeles. I love giving to the community and building a stronger economy. I can't wait to work together and see the changes we can create together.
